If i had to be totally objective i would have to characterize Paris as absolutely adorable! The museums, the coffee-shops, the monuments and everything that surrounds Paris are in harmony creating a melancholical and romantic at the same time atmosphere. You enjoy a walk across Seine, you can visit the artistic little streets of Monmarte or shop in some of the most famous boutiques worldwide. But if you ask which is my favorite place of this beautiful city, i would not aswer neither the Louvre nor Versailles but a small bookshop called "Shakespeare and the Company"!
Close to Sorbonne university and opposite to Notre Dame you can find the lovely bookshop full of students and tourists at a daily basis. As you enter the place you see at first an ordinary bookshop equipped with the latest english publications that can satisfy even the most demanding customer. But it is upstairs that the magic unfolds! The second floor is full of old books-not for sale-that exude an old smell and create the feeling of travelling back in time. In your right hand you can see a room where small band every now and then give live performances or large groups of people gather t study all together. In the next room you can find a bed surrounded by thousands of books, offering to someone the opportunity to enjoy reading while relaxing. Over the bed you can find a bunch of hand written letters where the visitors express their feelings and thoughts.
